I think a quick-start guide would have been a better fit for me。 Many things are explained in detail here that didn’t need to be, like what fasting is。 Seriously? And then to pick it apart enough to take up a whole chapter?

Great practical advice。 I think that anyone who wants to try Intermittent fasting should read a book about it and this one is a good place to start! I'm very glad she talks about calorie counting too (and no, one shouldn't do it)。 I found it also funny what she had to say about intuitive eating! I am just a week into IF so I'll let people know how well it works but so far I'm sleeping better and am not consumed with thoughts of food! Also, clean fasting was a revelation to me too。 Not chewing gu Great practical advice。 I think that anyone who wants to try Intermittent fasting should read a book about it and this one is a good place to start! I am thankful for finding this book。 Researching various sources on intermittent fasting has been very confusing on the right and wrong way to fast。 Gin Stephen's book provides a simplified compilation on the science of IF, supporting studies and health and weight loss benefits。 Would recommend if you are new to IF or would like a refresher on the latest studies and results。 I am thankful for finding this book。 Researching various sources on intermittent fasting has been very confusing on the right and wrong way to fast。 Gin Stephen's book provides a simplified compilation on the science of IF, supporting studies and health and weight loss benefits。 Would recommend if you are new to IF or would like a refresher on the latest studies and results。 。。。more

A Wonderful book about the power if intermittent fasting! The science behind how good it is for you to delay eating and give your body time to repair other parts of your body! Lots of great details on how to begin intermittent fasting。 Along with tons of science and research to back up the topic。I listened to this book, then turned around and bought the hard copy because the information and charts in the books were valuable to me。I've recommended this book more than any other to friends and family about intermittent fasting。 In the book she gives you several tools to help you on this journey along with sharing her own story。 Lots of great details on how to begin intermittent fasting。 Along with tons of science and research to back up the topic。I listened to this book, then turned around and bought the hard copy because the information and charts in the books were valuable to me。I've recommended this book more than any other to friends and family about intermittent fasting。 In the book she gives you several tools to help you on this journey along with sharing her own story。 。。。more

I’m so glad I’ve read this book。 If been IF for nearly 4 years and did great for 3, but covid found me snacking and adding flavored seltzers at all times of the day and evening。 I guess it’s not a shocker that I’m up 10 lbs and I have a new muffin top。 Great encouragement and lots of science will see me back on the correct path。

For anyone looking for info on IF - this is your book!

I really loved reading her first book, and this one was no exception。 I’ve spent nearly a year learning and tweaking the intermittent fasting lifestyle, and it’s been what I needed。 I have a healthy BMI again after years of childbearing and weight gain, and really - a history of always being overweight。 Slow, gradual but effective change in my health, my weight, my body composition, energy and relationship with food have all happened, and it’s just been a gradual sigh of relief。 I still have goa I really loved reading her first book, and this one was no exception。 I’ve spent nearly a year learning and tweaking the intermittent fasting lifestyle, and it’s been what I needed。 I have a healthy BMI again after years of childbearing and weight gain, and really - a history of always being overweight。 Slow, gradual but effective change in my health, my weight, my body composition, energy and relationship with food have all happened, and it’s just been a gradual sigh of relief。 I still have goals and more to learn, but am getting closer to maintenance mode, and know what to do to keep moving forward。 I inhaled this book。 It helped me recognize where I still have work to do, but affirmed that fasting isn’t that daunting and it IS healthy。 If you’re considering intermittent fasting, this is THE book to read。 。。。more

Libby audio。 A must read for anyone considering IF or anyone who is doing IF and wants inspiration or more science behind the lifestyle。Clean fast vs dirty fastWhat breaks your fastConcept of insulin release in response se to sweet flavor profileUp/down days was a bit much。 Would probably need a paper copy of the book or give it another 1-2 listens to fully grasp the concept/health benefits。

I'll start by saying that I finally had it with dieting。 After my spring break this year I was a mess and in a dark place。 It all led back to dieting and the constant feeling of self-doubt and self-hatred I had for myself。 I did some research and learned about Intuitive Eating (great book - I felt almost immediate relief when I read it!) However, I know myself and the "anything at anytime" approach was not going to work for me。 I knew that I was never going to be able to control my eating when g I'll start by saying that I finally had it with dieting。 After my spring break this year I was a mess and in a dark place。 It all led back to dieting and the constant feeling of self-doubt and self-hatred I had for myself。 I did some research and learned about Intuitive Eating (great book - I felt almost immediate relief when I read it!) However, I know myself and the "anything at anytime" approach was not going to work for me。 I knew that I was never going to be able to control my eating when given the permission to eat what I want, when I want。 Back to the drawing board。。。I reached out to a fellow Intuitive Eater (found her on the FB site and it said she was a "coach。") Lo and behold, she had the same issues with Intuitive Eating that I did and recommended Fast。 Feast。 Repeat。 Both books have been life-changing, except this one is helping me on my journey to heal my inner-self AND lose weight。 Been at it for 28 days and I am really thinking of this Intermittent Fasting as a way of life, not a "diet。" Hope I can look back on this review and have the confidence in myself that I've been lacking all these years。 Gin Stephens is a life-saver。 。。。more

Gin Stephens has written another fantastic book about the intermittent fasting lifestyle。 I first became familiar with her writing when a friend recommended that I read her book, “Delay, Don't Deny: Living an Intermittent Fasting Lifestyle”。 I tried IF last fall, lost some weight but struggled with hunger, and soon found myself falling back to old habits and suffered weight regain。 I decided to revisit the IF topic and am more motivated than before after reading Gin’s book “Fast。 Feast。 Repeat。” Gin Stephens has written another fantastic book about the intermittent fasting lifestyle。 I first became familiar with her writing when a friend recommended that I read her book, “Delay, Don't Deny: Living an Intermittent Fasting Lifestyle”。 I tried IF last fall, lost some weight but struggled with hunger, and soon found myself falling back to old habits and suffered weight regain。 I decided to revisit the IF topic and am more motivated than before after reading Gin’s book “Fast。 Feast。 Repeat。”。 Recommend anyone interested in improving health and losing weight to read her book(s)! 。。。more

Listened to this audio version for the past couple weeks while I’m at the beginning of my IF adventure。 I can’t honestly say whether it will become a lifestyle for me or not。 All those happy people in the next to the last chapter saying how great IF is and what a life changer blah, blah, blah was annoying。 Maybe it looks different in black and white on the written page。 But here’s how it sounds: the narrator introducing Jane Doe from Iowa and then a different person reading the testimonial then Listened to this audio version for the past couple weeks while I’m at the beginning of my IF adventure。 I can’t honestly say whether it will become a lifestyle for me or not。 All those happy people in the next to the last chapter saying how great IF is and what a life changer blah, blah, blah was annoying。 Maybe it looks different in black and white on the written page。 But here’s how it sounds: the narrator introducing Jane Doe from Iowa and then a different person reading the testimonial then the narrator introducing Jean Smith from New Hampshire and then the same different person reading that testimonial for about 40 tom50 times。 It sort of got old for me and didn’t have the ring of sincerity。 Except if it was a man testimonial then a GUY read that one。 The SAME GUY for BOTH guy testimonials! It remains to be seen if I can succeed at intermittent fasting long term。 If I’m a believer in 6 months maybe I’ll update this review。 Three stars。 。。。more

Very informative about the benefits of fasting。 I love how the author approaches fasting and the multiple approaches to fasting。 For instance, I was only thinking about fasting as a religious fast or the commonly heard approach to fasting called intermittent fasting。 She gives multiple options to fasting, including hour restrictions (16:8) or daily restrictions (5:2)。 I listened to this on audio and decided to purchase it so I can refer to it and make notes about how I respond to different metho Very informative about the benefits of fasting。 I love how the author approaches fasting and the multiple approaches to fasting。 For instance, I was only thinking about fasting as a religious fast or the commonly heard approach to fasting called intermittent fasting。 She gives multiple options to fasting, including hour restrictions (16:8) or daily restrictions (5:2)。 I listened to this on audio and decided to purchase it so I can refer to it and make notes about how I respond to different methods I choose to try。 。。。more

The only way to fastI did a fourteen day fast in May of 2020 and went from 155 lbs to 125 lbs。 I did a twenty-one day fast in February of 2021 and only went from 148 lbs to 135 lbs。 Everything slowed down to where I had all of this belly fat left and was losing muscle。 I read ‘Fast, feast repeat’ and I am now on my third day。 I went for a 2 1/2 mile hike today and feel confident that my 18:6 will lead to increased stamina and decreased belly fat。

This book makes a compelling argument for fasting。 I've also read The Longevity Paradox: How to Die Young at a Ripe Old Age and The Obesity Code: Unlocking the Secrets of Weight Loss, both of which back up intermittent fasting as a legitimate health technique。 I keep trying, but either I'm not consistent with my eating window, or my window turns into an all-day-long feast, or my window is perfect but I just overeat during it。 All of which do not help me to shed pounds。 Quite the opposite。。。。。 So This book makes a compelling argument for fasting。 I've also read The Longevity Paradox: How to Die Young at a Ripe Old Age and The Obesity Code: Unlocking the Secrets of Weight Loss, both of which back up intermittent fasting as a legitimate health technique。 I keep trying, but either I'm not consistent with my eating window, or my window turns into an all-day-long feast, or my window is perfect but I just overeat during it。 All of which do not help me to shed pounds。 Quite the opposite。。。。。 So, I'm thinking I'll give the book a rest for a year or a few months and come back and read it again。 Just to see if any of it sticks better the second time around。 Sigh。。。。。 Perhaps in the meantime I'll try listening to her podcasts occasionally to see if that is better at conquering my hunger。。。。。 。。。more

I won a copy of this book ,and it's an excellent book。 The author presents Intermitten Fasting as a lifestyle change instead of the 'diet' mentality of depriving yourself while trying to lose weight/inches。 In a nut shell, you fast for a specific number of hours, feast during your indicated window of time, and then you repeat。 I've only been practicing this lifestyle change for two weeks now and I feel amazing!! Great book for people that never heard or tried IF and who like the being “taught to” approach and many real life examples。 For me I found myself thinking “get to the point?” a lot as well as feeling like a 3rd grader in the classroom。 I think my original hope for the book was more science, more adult audience content (what I mean is don’t assume your audience is elementary school level), and more info that you will not find by googling IF。

Gin Stephens is the dieting version of Brene Brown, right down to the self-deprecating southern accent。I learned a lot from he book。 I appreciate how this is a lifestyle as opposed to a diet。 That seems more sustainable to me。 It's fascinating to learn how even just the taste of foods (especially sweet flavors) can activate your insulin response and start digestion。So intermittent fasting can:* burn fat stores via ketosis* redistribute body fat away from the midsection* prolong your life* make y Gin Stephens is the dieting version of Brene Brown, right down to the self-deprecating southern accent。I learned a lot from he book。 I appreciate how this is a lifestyle as opposed to a diet。 That seems more sustainable to me。 It's fascinating to learn how even just the taste of foods (especially sweet flavors) can activate your insulin response and start digestion。So intermittent fasting can:* burn fat stores via ketosis* redistribute body fat away from the midsection* prolong your life* make you stronger* lower your A1C pre-diabetes levelsSign me up! 。。。more
